FLAGS FOR PEACE
JOIN US NOW!
In the spring of 2025, - from March 16th to the first of April - a major new War of Peace/Romagne 14-18 project is planned: the placement of 15,000 flags in the valley of La Robinette in Romagne.
By placing these flags, the soldiers of the Great War will be visible for a while again and will not be forgotten. At the same time, these flags in the landscape are an impressive call for peace around the world. A call that only gains urgency in these times.
You can read more about the project on the Flags for Peace 01 and Flags for Peace 02 articles on our newspage.
Jean-Paul has now approached several schools in the Netherlands to help produce these flags. You can participate in this great project by sponsoring one or more flags. We ask US 2.50 dollar per sponsored flag. The more flags the better of course, but we welcome any contribution.

War for Peace/Museum Romagne 14-18
A war museum with a message of peace
The First World War of 1914-1918 claimed millions of victims. Hundreds of square miles of territory were destroyed. Entire villages were wiped out and never rebuilt. Millions of men were away from home for years fighting for their homeland.
On the home front and in the occupied villages, women kept society going as best they could. But even at the front, life went on. Behind the trenches, people ate and drank, soldiers made music. They wrote letters home, made new friendships in the field hospital.
War for Peace/Museum Romagne 14 -18 is exhibiting an extensive collection of personal objects from WWI. Owner Jean-Paul de Vries found these in the fields, forests, gardens and barns around Romagne-sous-Montfaucon.
Education is a very important part of his life's work. Many schools find their annual way to Romagne. Jean-Paul takes the students into the field to tell his stories. His field trips leave a lasting impression and are inseparable from his museum and the message of peace he wants to spread. Because that is what War for Peace/Museum Romagne 14-18 is: a war museum with a message of peace.
